Founded in 1997 by Dr. Charles McDonald, the Department of Dermatology and its clinical practices are located across the State of Rhode Island. Brown Dermatology treats over 3,000 skin diseases and provides clinical services for patients at many hospitals in the state, including Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

Brown Emergency Medicine is the academic emergency medicine physician practice plan of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and Lifespan’s Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, and Newport Hospital.

Brown Medicine (formerly known as University Medicine) is a nonprofit, primary care, specialty outpatient and subspecialty medical group practice with over 200 physicians and multiple patient care locations across the state.

Brown Neurology (formerly The Neurology Foundation, Inc.) was established in 1989 as a tax-exempt, non-profit organization to provide support to the missions of the Warren Alpert Medical School and Rhode Island Hospital in patient care, medical education and neuroscience research.

Brown Urology strives to provide the finest patient care in the area of urology, as defined by the optimal outcome for all its patients. The physicians at Brown Urology teach and train the next generation of urologists at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and actively provide services to their patients at Miriam Hospital and other locations throughout Rhode Island.
